Work Experience
XR Developer - Plai
I collaborate closely with the company's co-founder and lead developer/designer, contributing both creatively and technically to the development of Plai Music and other spatial computing applications. I develop XR games using Unity, featuring a unique gameplay mechanic where a piano keyboard serves as a controller, with the broader goal of teaching players piano in a fun and engaging way. By iterating on user feedback, I continuously refine the game to ensure an intuitive and enjoyable user experience. Working with the entire team, I integrate diverse elements of game development, including gameplay mechanics, UI/UX design, and technical functionalities, contributing to the project from initial concept to final deployment.
Graduate Research Assistant - UHCL
I develop a pioneering VR Microbiology Lab application for the entire microbiology student body, tested by 30 students in a focus group to gather feedback essential for iterative improvements and future research endeavors. Collaborating with a supervising professor, I conduct a comprehensive systematic review of approximately 80 research papers, exploring the impact of VR technology on educational practices and laying the groundwork for a systematic review paper. I co-author influential research papers, including "A Survey of Agile vs. Traditional Methods on Project Risk Management" and "A Virtual Lab of Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization MALDI-TOF Protocols for Microbiology Students." I deliver compelling presentations to NASA personnel, sharing insights on utilizing GitLab for effective project management to enhance collaboration and productivity. Additionally, I conduct interactive presentation sessions for microbiology students, showcasing the research application and facilitating hands-on demonstrations to enrich their understanding and enthusiasm for VR-based learning methodologies.
